Enjoy the tranquility of 1860 Wine Country Cottages, situated on 7 acres in Laubes Road Springton in the Eden Valley. The property has a sense of history. It includes the original Kuchel family homestead, together with outbuildings, built from 1860.
The old stone dairy has been totally rebuilt to create the current 1860 accommodation, comprising two adjoining fully self contained private cottages. 1860 is surrounded by rolling hills, an adjacent alpaca farm and, directly across the road, Peter Seppelt’s Grand Cru winery, cellar door and restaurant.
It is a perfect base for day trips to enjoy quality local wine and food, is close to National Parks walking tracks, and to Barossa and Adelaide Hills wineries.
Sunset cottage has two large bedrooms, bathroom, ensuite and full kitchen. Dawn cottage is open plan with kitchenette and separate ensuite. Both have parking, outdoor areas with BBQ, and Dawn cottage has a separate elevated timber deck. Polished timber floors, stone walls and mini orb ceilings, add to their warmth and charm. They are beautifully appointed with modern amenities and a blend of new and antique furnishings.
Provisions for breakfasts are provided, as well as complimentary local wine, muscat and chocolates. 1860 provides a memorable, relaxed country experience.
